Thurs. June 14

End of term updates for all classes:

ALL WORK THAT HAS NOT BEEN SUBMITTED YET IS DUE ON WED. JUNE 20 (for Day 1 classes) OR THURS. JUNE 21 (for Day 2 classes).  No unsubmitted work will be accepted after these 2 dates.

1.1 and 1.3 – SS9: some of you have not submitted your New Home projects yet.  I will remind you one more time that this project makes up a huge part of your term 3 mark.  The Louis Riel paper is also worth a large portion of your term 3 mark. The walking tour photojournal assignment is due Wed. June 20.  You will be in the computer lab on Mon. June 18 to work on it.

1.4 – Flex Hum 10: Many of you have not submitted your Holocaust projects (don’t forget your rubrics!) yet and only 4 people have submitted their “Canadian Injustices on Minorities” paper.  These 2 assignments are worth a lot of your term 3 mark.  The population pyramid package is also an important assignment to complete.  The walking tour photojournal assignment is due Wed. June 20.  You will be in the computer lab on Mon. June 18 to work on it.

2.1 – Summit SS8: you are almost at the finish line.  You will just need to complete the following survey by TUESDAY.  www.historyconcepts.org/survey  Use the token code: rmjd65

2.2 – Summit SS9: the walking tour photojournal is due Thurs. June 21.  Please also ensure that you have read the graphic novel and return it on Tues. June 19 before we leave for Kits Beach.

2.4 – Summit SS10: your paper is due Tues. June 19.  Also, please complete the following survey by TUESDAY.  www.historyconcepts.org/survey  Use the token code: sx9m2y

Mon. June 4

1.1 and 1.3 – SS9: Double blocks start on Wednesday, which means you won’t have SS class with me until Friday.  Make sure you bring your field trip form and money in.  The due date is FRIDAY!  (You can bring the money and form to me any time during the week.  You don’t have to wait until Friday!)

1.4 – Flex Hum 10: Wednesday is the start of double blocks.  David will return to continue his program with charities.  Your “write” on injustices in Canadian history is due Wednesday.  You will also need to bring your field trip form and money!

Thurs. May 31

Tomorrow is tutorial time!  Please come find me in Room 415 to catch up or to clarify any assignments for you.

1.1 and 1.3 – SS9: your NEW HOME PROJECTS are due Monday!  We learned about some important people in the CPR story today.  Complete the chart for Monday as well.  Use p. 194-201 in Horizons to help.

1.4 – Flex Hum 10: Holocaust projects are due Monday.  Be sure to attach the rubric with it when you submit.  Your write on Canadian injustices is due on Wednesday.

Fri. May 25

1.1 and 1.3 – SS9: keep thinking about how you’re going to answer this question: “Was Louis Riel a hero or a traitor?”  We will continue exploring it next class.  This multi-paragraph write is due Thursday, May 31.  Your New Home Project is due Monday, June 4.

Thurs. May 17

1.1 and 1.3 – SS9: thank you for your colony presentations.  With our new knowledge of how and why the Dominion of Canada was formed with the first four provinces, we can go into the long weekend relaxed and ready for our field trip to Fort Langley!

Reminders: meet on Penticton Street Wednesday at 8:45AM.  DO NOT BE LATE.  Dress for the weather.  Bring lunch, snacks, and water.  We will be back at the school at 2:45PM.

1.4 – Flex Hum 10: have a wonderful trip!  Enjoy the Big Apple.
